Cory Van Geffen joined the firm in 1998 and has had the title of financial advisor for the past 21 years. Cory’s responsible in guiding the new client from the introduction stage to the investment implementation stage and finally to the ongoing management of the client's financial life. Cory is passionate about client education and relationships. Cory believes that the investment industry spends too much time trying to sell people products and not enough time listening to what a client’s concerns are. You will find Cory spending a lot of his client interaction time teaching about risk, how investments work, why one investment may fit better than another. After meeting with Cory it is not uncommon to hear a client talk about how much better they feel about investing and retirement. Cory then continues to meet with the client on a regular basis to keep up with changing objectives and market conditions.
Cory received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from the University of Southeastern Louisiana. He holds a series 7 & 63 securities license, and a Louisiana Life and Health Insurance License.
Cory resides in Slidell with his wife Melissa, their two daughters, Karis and Farrah, and son Brady. Cory and his family attend Church of the King in Mandeville. In his free time Cory is Husband and Dad. In addition to coaching his son's travel soccer team he also enjoys anything competitive, playing golf, working out, playing guitar or heading off with his family in search of snow or sand.
